This 2-week Bunnicula Novel Study for the book by Deborah and James Howe was designed to help your students build reading comprehension and vocabulary skills through the book by James & Deborah Howe. Daily practice focuses on vocabulary and comprehension, and it is designed to help students develop as readers.
While other novel units for this book focus on a list of Bunnicula comprehension questions that require students to regurgitate the text, this unit was designed to help students think deeply and gain transferrable reading comprehension skills that they can apply to other reading tasks. This no fluff novel study engages students, but it doesn't overwhelm readers.

Bunnicula Summary:
Bunnicula, a tiny bunny with mesmerizing eyes, joins the Monroe family. Chester, the overprotective watchdog, suspects Bunnicula is a vampire rabbit draining the vegetables of their life force. Meanwhile, adventurous feline, Harold, tries to befriend the newcomer. A hilarious mystery unfolds as Chester tries to expose Bunnicula, leading to wacky mishaps and a surprising revelation about the bunny's true nature.
